Emergency Announcements
There are no weather emergencies to announce at this time.
In case of snow, ice, or other unusual conditions such as power outages and excessive heat, school officials may decide to close school, delay school opening, or send students home early. News about these decisions is communicated as soon as the decision is made in these ways:
- Posted here and on the home page.
- Sent by e-mail to those who have elected to receive Sts. Peter and Paul email updates.
- Recorded message called to home telephone numbers.
- Called in to local radio stations.
- Called in to television stations Channel 13.
Here is what happens in each situation when the school schedule changes:
- School Closed- All school buildings are closed. The decision is usually announced by 6 a.m. on all information outlets. All school activities are canceled unless otherwise announced. Administrative offices usually remain open.
Delayed Opening- School will open one to two hours later than usual. The decision is usually announced by 6 a.m. Busses will not run unless public schools are also on delay. Field trips are canceled. Morning Preschool is canceled.
Early Dismissal- Schools will dismiss one to two hours early if conditions require. This decision is normally announced by 11:30 a.m. Afternoon Preschoo is canceled. Extracurricular activities, interscholastic contests, team practices, field trips, adult and community education classes, and recreation programs in school and on school grounds are canceled.
