Sports

Sts. Peter and Paul students participate in sports programs offered through the Wellston City Schools, including basketball, football, baseball, and softball. Seventh and eighth graders may participate in the City of Jackson Junior High Baseball program, as well.

Other sports programs are offered to Sts. Peter and Paul students through the Wellston and Jackson Recreation Departments and through private organizations, such as the Jackson YMCA, JYSA, and Upward. Information about these sports programs are distributed through Sts. Peter and Paul to school families throughout the school year.

"The lack of organized sport teams at Sts. Peter and Paul was definitely a concern for us as our son entered junior high.  But, we didn't want him to give up the incredible educational opportunity awaiting with Mr. Anderson's 7th and 8th grade class.  We were able to find competitive sports leagues which, for Cole, include fall baseball at the University of Rio Grande, the Jackson County Black Sox travel baseball team, 7th and 8th grade baseball at Jackson Middle School and the Fairgreens Junior Golf League.  With these programs, he will be well prepared for the high school sports he wants to play. Academically, his mind is being challenged and his education is well-rounded.  We feel like we get the best of both worlds! "
