Student Dress Code

Students in Kindergarten through 8th grade abide by a specific code to provide a standard of dress and behavior. Cleanliness and proper dress are important in setting the pattern of school and social conduct, thereby fostering an environment conducive to learning and respectful behavior.

Sts. Peter and Paul attire may be purchased from any clothing stores, including Walmart, Old Navy,  Kohl’s and JCPenney.

Pants must be dress/uniform style in NAVY or KHAKI. No cargo pants, designer stripes or decorations. No blue jeans or denim pants, if the pants have rivets you should not wear them to school. No pockets on the outside of the pants. Pants should have no extra gems, jewels, or designs.

Walking shorts and capris are allowed from May 1st through September 30th. Shorts/Capris must be NAVY or KHAKI. Shorts must be dress walking shorts and must reach the end of fingertips when standing. Capris are to be uniform style. Shorts should have no extra pockets, gems, jewels, or designs. Neither are permitted on days of Mass.

Skirts/Skorts colors must be plain NAVY or KHAKI,  and must be no more than 2 inches above the knee. No extra jewels, gems, or designs.

Jumpers/Dresses must be plain NAVY or KHAKI. Polo Dresses are to be NAVY only.

Shirts/Blouses colors must be RED, WHITE, NAVY, LIGHT BLUE, or ROYAL BLUE. Shirts are to have collars, be plain (no stripes or patterns) and are to be worn tucked in. They may be long or short sleeve and can be turtleneck. Blouses are to be WHITE only. They are to be worn buttoned. No undershirts should show.

Sweaters/Sweatshirts must be plain in any of the shirt colors and may be cardigan or pullover or vest but must be worn over an approved shirt. No designs or words. No “Hoodies” will be permitted in the classrooms.

Shoes must have some type of back strap for safety and health reasons. Crocs may be worn if they have a heel strap. Heelies and Clogs are not permitted. No flip flops, Heelies, and no open toe shoes. We prefer children to be outfitted with tennis shoes/sneakers or something with a nonskid sole.

Socks must be worn at all times including when sandals are worn. Socks must be the same color. Tights are acceptable in WHITE, RED, or NAVY.

Make-up and fingernail polish are not permitted. Jewelry should be limited and chosen with safety in mind. No dangling earrings.

Hair must be neat, well groomed with no extreme styles. Boy’s hair may not exceed the length of the ear nor go beyond the top of the collar or eyebrows. For girls, only modest hair accessories. Hair color that is not the natural color is not allowed. NO mohawks/faux hawks.

**The principal is the final authority on appropriateness of clothing, etc.

Several no-dress-code days are held throughout the school year. The 1st Wednesday of each month is a no-dress-code day for students with parents in attendance of the Home and School Association Meetings held on the first Tuesday of each month.
